During routine inspections today, Duke Energy found damage to their feed supplying power to two of the Village of Georgetown’s substations. At 10 PM tomorrow, Duke will be cutting power to one of our substations to make repairs on their side of the feed coming into the village. This will result in a power outage for a portion of the village. If things go as planned, this will be a momentary outage while we transfer to backup power feeds at our substations.

If the transition to backup power is unsuccessful, the power outage is expected to take 2 to 3 hours for Duke to make their repairs.

The outage will affect the following portions of the village:
