The Safety Pup Program is an educational initiative developed in partnership with the National Child Safety Council (NCSC) to teach children important safety lessons in a fun and engaging way. Topics covered include stranger danger, traffic safety, and drug prevention, all delivered through interactive presentations and the lovable mascot, "Safety Pup," to make the learning experience both memorable and impactful.

The Georgetown Police Department, serving the community of Georgetown, Ohio, actively participates in this program as part of its commitment to community safety and outreach. By collaborating with the NCSC and using programs like Safety Pup, the department works to build trust, educate its youngest citizens, and promote a safer environment for all. Safety Pup Day is celebrated on February 12th.

Safetypup was first introduced to the world on February 12, 1985, since his introduction, Safetypup has proven to be a successful learning tool used by law enforcement officers and teachers across the country.
